Returning guests of the Joule and new visitors will instantly recognize that the freshly renovated spaces are filled with artworks that are fully charged. The new works will complement the existing collection in a way that will delight the guests. The selection of artists is for the enjoyment of the discerning art enthusiasts and the casual admirer alike.
One of the latest acquisitions is a major bronze work resembling an enormous chambered nautilus by the celebrated British artist Tony Cragg. The work was recently included in a one person exhibition devoted to Mr. Cragg at The Nasher Sculpture Center. The sculpture will be prominently installed in the Joule lobby. A significant work by the Havana, Cuba based collective Los Carpinteros will be a fresh addition to the collection as well. The group’s elegant and humorous sculptures, drawings, and installations draw their inspiration from the physical world. Their works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York and The Guggenheim to name a few.
